Urbana, / Info 1978 Ford Pickup
This 1978 Ford F100 with custom flatbed has to be one of the sharpest modified trucks around. Staying with Ford tradition, the cab has the original look, but all redone, inside & out. But for modification, the truck has a custom made to fit aluminum flatbed that looks great! There is so much to tell about this truck, so please read all of the details. You will be impressed! The truck runs out with a rebuilt 351W with an Edelbrock camshaft & 4 barrel carburetor, cast aluminum intake manifold, valve covers & crankcase breather. The transmission is a manual 3-speed plus overdrive with a 3:50 rear end. The radiator has been updated to a 4 core radiator, there is a dual battery system & dual exhaust that sounds great! The entire outside & inside of the cab has been refinished, rebuilt or replaced. Front fenders, doors & lower cab corners were replaced. It was given several coats of paint & clear coat. The inside of the cab was also repainted. A new dash cover was installed & the seat recovered. The carpet was put in new as were the door panels. A custom headliner with AM-FM Cassette & four speakers provides the sound. For extras, a sliding back window was added as well as aluminum diamond plate running boards. To provide the ride, there are wide aluminum rims & Continental M+S P235/75R15 white letter tires. And now for the flatbed, which was built just to fit this short bed truck! It is completely skirted with aluminum diamond plate. It measures 7' long & 6'8' wide, not counting the bumper. There is a tool box mounted on each side of the bed. The rack is made from solid oak & is stained & varnished. All bolts, nuts & screws are stainless steel. All other hardware is either aluminum or brass. There is also a second rack made with treated lumber with the truck for work, as the oak rack is so nice you just want to use it for show. The bed has 5 flush mounted tie down rings along each side of the bed. To top it off, it is equipped with a class 3 trailer hitch/electric brake. | |||
