| fayetteville - Great-running, ex-SCHOOLBUS, stripped interior, only 78,447 miles (Poteau, OK/Ft. Smith, AR area) $2500 2008-09-14 (The way this seems to be working out is that we are still finding people who are interested in this bus & then will go down to OK from MN to show it to people as soon as we can & sell it then.) This bus is a really good deal! We can send pics by e-mail, (We just are unable to put them on this ad at this time.) It is a 1991 & has a GMC 6000 gas engine that runs like a top, with a Ward body. It has only 78,447 miles! The most special thing about this bus is that it was an ACTIVITY bus (for the school band, as in marching/instruments band) bus, It is NOT a ROUTE bus, or even an athletic events bus, so it went on only occasional longer trips rather than stop & start to pick up children everyday, so it's not beat-up or run into the ground. So because it was a band bus, that makes it among the hardest to find & least used & best cared for used schoolbus for sale out there, since each school usually only had one bus like this for the band. It is a 67 passenger, it's not the biggest one made, it's maybe the SECOND biggest schoolbus. It has a 8-speed manual transmission. Power steering & power brakes & parking brake all working great. Drives easy. It has no broken windows. It measures 8 1/2 ft. Wide X 26 ft. Long from the rear door to right behind the driver's seat & has a curving up to 6 ft. high. ceiling. This is a good-running nice ex-school bus that we got from a trusted good mechanic friend down in NE Oklahoma, where they have never heard of road salt, that is in good condition (everything works fine) that we have stripped the entire interior & cleaned it out to make into a motor home (our plans for that changed so that's the only reason we are selling it) or it could be used as a very sturdy mobile home or semi-stationary residence or portable hunting cabin or a portable storage unit or a very nice constuction shack with or without living quarters or ? The local school went thru' it mechanically & did any servicing & our friend planned to keep it himself to make a motorhome from it for his own family, but then reluctantly sold it to us when we asked him to sell it to us. At this time we are willing to sell it for $3,000. For that we will deliver it to anywhere near or between Poteau, OK (near Ft. Smith, AR) & Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN. Also we could take as low as $2,500., but only if the buyer takes possession of it where it is parked & we don't have to bring it back up to Minnesota or deliver it to the buyer ourselves. It is being stored near the town of Poteau, OK in northeastern Oklahoma at this time. All the seats, etc. except the driver's seat have been carefully removed & the interior stripped & prepared for furnishing & any future custom-design. We worked our heads off to do all this. We caulked the windowsills with silicon rubber caulk so they don't leak. We took the Stop-arm off. We took out the back heater. All hoses & heaters are cleaned & ready to be reinstalled if the next owner chooses. We also filled the seat bolt holes (with caulk, so if the seats need to be reinstalled, it will be easy to just push the bolts thru' the small amount of soft caulk that is blocking the holes, so that wouldn't be a problem to reinstall the seats, if that is desired) & sanded & painted the interior floor with special low-VOC $50. per gallon paint & we had scrubbed & rinsed the exterior to prepare it for repainting. The paint it has on the exterior is in good condition. Possibly all of up to 14 1/2 of the remaining seats & the 2 nice padded baracades could still be available if desired. They are in good condition & recently recovered, forest green & several brown ones. 2 good spare tires without rims are also included & some filters, etc. We could also include about $150. worth of nearly 5 gals. of industrial quality latex- metal paint for the bus exterior, custom-colored in Oklahoma Tan color, free with it. We would consider also to let the rest of the 13 seats, etc. go with it, too, if the buyer wants that. If I remember right, we sold 8 of the seats already & got $25. each for them back home in Minnesota. If my math is right that could make those 13 worth an additional nearly $300. more $'s!!! Let us know as soon as possible if you are interested in it. There have been quite a few people who have e-mailed about buying this bus with considerable interest in it. It appears that if we had taken it up to Minnesota last fall, we're pretty sure we would have already sold it then for at least $3,500. We had people with cash in hand waiting for us to bring it up to our home near the Twin Cities, Mpls./St. Paul, Minnesota, but we had unforseen circumstances that delayed us doing that up until now, but we may do that after all depending on what happens in the near future. It started up perfect & ran cleanly & beautifully as usual when we drove it to it's temporary storage place in OK.
