| boulder - 2005 Kawasaki Ninja 250R (Longmont) $2200 2008-09-24 Up for sale is a dream bike for anyone wanting more of that sweet MPG! I bought this Ninja 250 about 2 years ago, when the bike was less than 1 year old. It had 230 miles on the odometer when I purchased it, and it now has about 9,000 miles on the Odo. I have taken excellent care to change oil, tighen the chain, reduce slack in the suspension... etc, at regular intervals, ensuring that this bike will run strongly as the mileage goes up. This bike runs very well throughout the RPM range, and screams up top for that extra boost when you really need it(hopefully you never do). This bike has been ridden moderately for about 95% of its life. I have not opened the engine up much at all since i've owned it. Just not much sense to run it in traffic, right? so, about that gas mileage? I've been calculating between 58 and 67 mpg. That includes a combination of highway and city miles. A lighter rider doing highway miles could see up to 70 mpg. With a 4 gallon tank, I only fill up every 250 miles or so, and its less than $20 to fill it up!! This bike is a little on the small side, but I am 6'0", weighing 160lbs, and the bike totes me with no complaints. I can even take my girlfriend along, adding abuot 115 lbs, but the bike begins to feel sluggish then. That small size helps the bike corner like a track bike. I can drag my toes through a corner without ever feeling threatened by gravity. This bike has never been wrecked and has a clean bill of sale. however, in the interest of honesty, I did manage to lay it over once. Fortunately I was doing about 5 mph on ice down my driveway. The damage was limited to a bent handlebar (on order, will be replaced in mere days), and a very very small scuff on the front shroud. No cracks, no paint problems, no fading. This bike is in very good shape. I need to sell this bike quickly, to help pay off a debt. Extremely clean in EXCELLENT condition.The bike as 22,000 original miles with a Yoshimira exhuast jetted for Denver. Brand new battery, brand new Bridgestone rear and nearly new front Metzler. Just replaced the stock windscreen with a clear ZeroGravity. It has the custom solo seat cowl that comes off if you want to have a passenger. The carbs were professionally sincronized last year and I just had an oil change done. The bike has never been wrecked but did fall over in the garage last year but nothing major happened. It has a small hairline crack on the back plastic side cover which can barely be seen in two of the photos. The bike is in excellent condition mechanically and it looks NEW. It runs perfect and sounds really good with this exhaust pipe. This FZR is also very, very fast. Several people (including my mechanic) have told me that this motorcycle is considered a collectors bike and that it is worth more than $3000 in its current condition. I just like the way it looks. Unfortunately, at 5'4" this bike is a little too tall for me. I thought I would get used to it but never did - I was told it could be lowered but I dont think I want to pay for all of that. Insurance is cheap since it is a 1989 and only cost $65 per year. This bike gets a lot of comments just about everywhere it goes - especially from those who remember it being one of the first true sportbikes on the market. - I just wish it were a little shorter. | boulder - 2003 Honda VTX1800 R Spoke (vtx 1800) (Lyons, CO) $6700 2008-09-21 Well maintained and always garage kept with a cover. I am the single owner and the miles are almost pure highway. I took the bike on three ~4000 mile cross country trips with old Harley riders (meaning we went really slow and easy). Other than that, I took the bike to work once per month to keep everything lubricated. There are 14,700 total miles on the odometer. The fluids were changed twice as often as recommended by the manual and OE Honda fluids were used. The entire bike is nearly flawless including the chrome on the exhaust pipes and the paint on the front of the gas tank which is chip free. The bike looks exactly as it did on the show room floor when I bought it. The only flaws are some minor scuffing low on the windscreen and a very small and hard to find dimple on the gas tank which was there when I bought it new (probably happened during assembly or on the show room floor). There have never been any repairs because nothing has ever gone wrong and the bike has never been dropped. All stock except for a very high quality WindVest windscreen ($470) and Kuryakyen turn signal lenses ($60). Brand new rear tire. The front tire is about 3/4 used. Both tires are OE dunlop models. I have all records and everything that came with the bike including the manual unused tool kit. |

The original model didn't accept luggage, so I custom fit a set of airhead bags to make it the perfect commuter- awesome gas mileage, and enough speed to actually keep up with traffic. I've been using it as a daily driver, but a new baby means I have to cut back on vehicles. Extremely clean in EXCELLENT condition.The bike as 22,000 original miles with a Yoshimira exhuast jetted for Denver. Brand new battery, brand new Bridgestone rear and nearly new front Metzler. Just replaced the stock windscreen with a clear ZeroGravity. It has the custom solo seat cowl that comes off if you want to have a passenger. The carbs were professionally sincronized last year and I just had an oil change done. The bike has never been wrecked but did fall over in the garage last year but nothing major happened. It has a small hairline crack on the back plastic side cover which can barely be seen in two of the photos. The bike is in excellent condition mechanically and it looks NEW. It runs perfect and sounds really good with this exhaust pipe. This FZR is also very, very fast. Several people (including my mechanic) have told me that this motorcycle is somewhat of a collectors bike and that it is worth more than $3000 in its current condition. I just like the way it looks. Unfortunately, at 5'4" this bike is a little too tall for me. I thought I would get used to it but never did - I was told it could be lowered but I dont think I want to pay for all of that. Insurance is cheap since it is a 1989 and only cost $65 per year. | boulder - 1981 Suzuki GS650 (Boulder / Gunbarrel) $1000 2008-09-20 I have a 1981 Suzuki GS650 bike for sale. Runs well. New battery, new mirrors, bike cover, windshield. I'm throwing in my helmet as well; it has a couple scratches and is missing one or two of the plastic vent covers. The tires will need to be replaced at some point in the not too distant future, and the back brake caliper has a sticking piston that I've taken out and cleaned, but really needs to be polished. I have access to a bench grinder with polishing wheel where the bike is parked, and it may be that we can shine that puppy up and have no further problems. The bike is in good condition otherwise, and I'm sad to have to sell it but dirt mountain roads and street bikes don't mix.
