30k miles (not alot, these go well over 80-100k w/o problems), clean title, religiously changed the oil/filter w/ K&N and motul... the bodywork is by multitech, its got protek rearsets, new 520 15/43 renthal sprokets and a DID xring chain, steel braided lines front and back, K&N air filters, sp2 header/exhaust (meaning they are from 2002+ bike), all the smog junk removed... i rebuilt the forks about 3k miles ago and suspension is set up for 200ish, also i just did the valves a couple hundred miles ago and threw new plugs in... the bike runs perfect. ive also got 2005 scheme (black/gray) fairings i can install for extra
the bad: clutch side radiator tweaked (holds water no problem, just cant mount the fan) and tiny issue w/ tank

Hard times equals hard choices!
Always garaged, never down, not salvaged title. Second owner and we both babied this bike and maintenanced it on schedule. Has no mechanical problems whatso ever! Compression and idle perfect, new tirers(fancy rolling ones) new chain, not even broke in and adjusted yet. Newer brakes(3000 miles ago), will need plug n oil change done in another 3000 miles. Immaculate paint and all original. Custom Austrailian pipe- sounds sweet! Custom 929 decals, rare european paint job-original and had to be ordered. Hard to think of everything..Top end replaced for more power by professional with first owner, 12000 miles ago. 38k miles on tracker. Back tire professioanlly repaired three days after install. Nail got in it. Yup- that sucked but you'd never know, its in deep tread spot and will have to be pointed out to know it. Tire never leaks or anything, you can see for yourself..

This is a 1979 Honda CX500. It has a clear title and current California registration. This bike is clean and runs great!! It could be a great commuter bike. I ride it for recreation but am ready for the trails and need a dual-sport. On my last trip from Santa Cruz to Los Angeles I was cruising comfortably at about 80 mph nearly my entire ride - getting between 50 and 60 miles per gallon while passing up everyone. (The bike will do triple digits).
This is one of the first shaft-drive models and is a vintage collector's item in the UK. The bike starts right up, has lots of power, and is in great shape. Keep in mind, however, that it is 30 years old. It has visible, normal "wear and tear" such as rust in various spots and some minor pitting on the forks. It is a very nice bike but it is not mint. I have not abused this bike and I've tried to maintain it in good condition. It could use a right fork seal replacement which I have not got around to doing.

New stator, timing chain, water pump seals.
Has three Shoei saddlebags, two side and one rear. The right side bag cover has been damaged and needs to be replaced (see photo). The other bags work to carry luggage but I don't keep valuables inside when I'm not around as I don't trust the locks and/or the hinges to prevent thievery. You can find these bags on eBay if you seek repairs or improvement. I have a trailer so I can deliver the bike to you (if you live nearby) or you can come and get it.
This bike handles good off road too...I love this bike but I want a dual sport for serious trail riding and can't afford two bikes at this time. Asking $1800. Make an offer. Pink slip is ready for transfer.
