I have an outboard motor that I'd like to sell. I do not know if it runs or not but it looks like its in good shape and clean. Prop turns freely and motor turms nice (not frozen up or anything). Manufacter tag says built by Sears. Looks to be in the 7/1/2-10hp range. It's a 2 stroke, short shaft model. I have the fuel line connector but you'll need to replace the line and bulb. Older Starcraft and 30 horse Elgin (Sears "Evenrude") outboard, Carpet covered wood floor and deck. Home made trailer, good tires with buddy bearings and fresh paint. A gantry fell on the boat during a storm across the gunnels and there is a dent that could be brought out, you can see it if I point it out. I never ran the motor and I'm unsure of it's condition. - Vintiage Mercury 50 hp Motor (6th st/ Stone) $300
This is a 1961 Merc 500 short shaft motor. I bought it not running and replaced the water pump right away before trying to start it. I knew the carbs needed rebuilding so I rebuilt them and had the starter rebuilt at Tucson Alternator. It cranks over but not very fast and I think the battery I am using just isn't strong enough. I sent the magneto to a mercury specialist in New York for servicing and it is in excellent condition now, good spark. I replaced the recoil spring in the rope pull but it is still not acting right and now the rope won't retract. So I finally called it quits. The cowl is there and needs one of the locking nuts replaced. All trim is present, nothing missing though it isn't shown in the photos. The controls with the key switch is there, cables and the harness to the motor. It's all there, just needs to be started. I tested the compression cold and got 110lbs on all cylinders. If you parted this out the magneto would sell for about what I am asking for the whole thing but I bought it to go on a vintage boat and that is where it would look best. I have a new three blade prop I would sell for $75 extra, never used. This can be converted to a long shaft motor with the factory conversion kit I have but that is negotiable as I was thinking of selling that separately. But I'm not all that hard to deal with, we can talk.

This is a great starter boat, simple to rig, stable in the water and easy to tow! She is an early 70's vintage design with racy lines. The trailer is in great shape and ready to haul her anywhere. The hull is hand layed fiberglass and in good shape.She is sloop rigged with a swing keel and has a cuddy cabin with a V-berth and 2 Quarter berths and a rudimentry head. The standing rigging is in good condition, the running rigging is serviceable but could stand an upgrade. The sails are sound and in good condition. She has some battle scars but has been repaired and is sound. She is a work in progress but is sail-worthy as she sits. A good coat of paint and a bit of trim work and she woud be the pride of the fleet. She comes with the following gear: Dock lines, dock bumpers, Danforth anchor and 100+ feet of anchor line, 4PFD's, colapsible oar/boat hook, fire extinguisher, and for another $300 I have an 6hp Evenrude outboard. I have trailer title(perm. tag) and boat registration in hand. I hate to see her go but due to health issues I have to let her go!

Carburetors often get dirty and clogged then it's time to clean/ rebuild them with kits. Impellers/ water pumps should be replaced regularly as they will break down/ fall apart and will not cool the motor effectively.

The triple ballast system fills and drains with the push of a button to acheive the fat wakes you have always wanted for wakeboarding. Interior needs to be replaced, floor is good, needs carpet, no issues that i know of. never got it in the water but when we were fixing it up, we got the motor started, i started sanding it and checking it for holes, there are none. water came out the engine, prop turned but not fast. we didnt know how to fix that or if anything was even wrong with it. there is a water pump in it, just found out that it does work, when we had someone come and look at the boat he told us that because it started it was worth at least 1000, but im takin the best offer. ummmm. the trailer is good, we drove it all the way from new mexico, the lights can be replaced and we have the replacements, they do work. Trailer just needs a coat of paint and it will be good.
I was told that the motor is a very powerful chrysler 150.

Johnson 4 HP Short Shaft Outboard Boat Motor. It has foward and nuetral, and pivots 360 degrees, so it has reverse also. Motor was fully serviced last year at Catalina Marina at a cost of $300+. The motor has been used constantly since then. The return coil for the pull cord was replaced in October 2009 at Porter's Marine Service ($80.00 + $21.00 for coil), who also adjusted the carburetor.
This is a great & reliable motor (used it at Parker and Patagonia). You will be able to start it if you choose to take a look at it.

Also has the gas shock mod to lift the hood so you dont have to use the stock latching system. The hydroturf was replaced last year. The carbs were tore down and rebuilt last year.
