1997 AMERICAN OFFSHORE 3100,, As Featured on the Cover of Powerboat Magazine: 1997 American Offshore 3100 Length 31 Beam 88 Horsepower 1,750 est Top Speed in excess of 118mph Custom built in 97, this boat features a Balsa core and hand lay-up for the strength needed to handle the high horsepower and high speeds possible with this Hull and power plant configuration. Powering this very efficient air trapping hull are TWO Jeff Blosdale (Lake Havasu City AZ.) 572 ci. Chevrolet monsters. These are Chevrolet tall blocks with a 4.5 in bore. Spinning custom 4.5 in stroke Callies Crankshafts with Eagle rods and Bill Miller pistons and topped with Brodix stage two head assemblies with an Ingle cam to complete the valve train. Induction is handled by 4 Holley 1050 Dominator carbs sitting on top of Mooneyham 10-71 blowers with the incoming charge cooled by Superchiller intercoolers. MSD 6AL provides the high powered spark and and CMI polished stainless steel headers provide the escape route for the exhaust gasses. Power is transmitted through the Bravo drives to the Bravo 30 props. Hydraulic steering, a tie bar and drive showers keep the drives cool and under control. The controls are centrally located with the driver and co-pilot sitting near the center of the boat, offering easy access to the throttles and the complete dual Gaffrig gauge layout. The central location of the forward buckets also allows easy access to the large cabin complete with sleeping for two. An Alpine CD multi-speaker, multi amplifier sound system keep the fun meter pegged even while sitting still. This boat is extremely clean and has a very low 55 hours on the meter | |||
